INVENTORS and serious hang-glider pilots had a second attempt at reaching the 100 metre mark during the second day at Worthing Birdman.

However, his replacement flying squirrel suit took him into second place over all in the Leonardo Da Vinci category.

Jason's first flight saw him travel 24.07 metres. The story behind the flying machines will be shown on Five from 8pm on Monday, August 31.

Unfortunately he didn't manage a repeat performance as his nose-dive on Sunday will show.

His Winged Warrior craft was modified from the previous day, as he flew without the mini scooter.

Dougie raised money for The Big Salute, and L.I.V.E.S, Lincolnshire integrated voluntary emergency service.

He may not have achieved his full potential but he did manage to have flapping wings on the side of his craft.
The final flyer of the weekends event, Dick was raising money for Metropolitan Police Orphans.
