TWO "aircraft", Inspector Gadget, a hobbit and a crocodile leapt through the air in the fun Kingfisher class at Worthing Birdman.

Jim Wiggleworth

When Jim Wiggleworth set off on his stag weekend he had no idea his friends had entered him into the Worthing Birdman competition.

Dressed as Inspector Gadget, complete with a drill powered umberella, he was game enough to leap from the platform to raise money for the NSPCC.

Chris Pugh and Kevin Dewhurst

Flying a replica Lancaster Bomber, Chris Pugh and Kevin Dewhurst equipped themselves well for Birdman and raised money for Hospice in the Weald.

John Donnelly

Plumber John Donnelly from Worthing, took The Tartan Flyer to new heights as he flew at Worthing Birdman.

Andy Headworth

He has been described as more alligator than aviator.

Andy Headworth aka Worthing Crocman took second place in the Kingfisher category and has raised more than £1,000 for Leukaemia Research.

Jeremy Ransom and Christopher Oakley

Worthing's Fallen Angels Jeremy Ransom and Christopher Oakley performed a tribute to Mick Jagger, complete with giant lips and backed by the song Get off of My Cloud.

They are raising money for St Barnabas House hospice.

Michael Keen

Channelling the spirit of Frodo Baggins, Michael Keen danced Hobbit style around the Birdman platform before leaping into the deep.

He was raising money for Worthing and Littlehampton MIND.
