A BED and breakfast in Bognor Regis has been forced to close after becoming a victim of its own success.
The Alderwasley Cottage bed and breakfast, near the Royal Norfolk Hotel, served its last customers on September 30.

After opening seven years ago it grew into a thriving business which, in the end, was too much for owner Wendy Elsden.

This Sunday Mrs Elsden and her family will be holding a sale of some of the cottage's furniture and electrical goods which are now surplus to requirements as the building turns back into a family home.

Mrs Elsden said: "I gave up my teaching career to come here.

"It has been very successful as the years have gone on.

"People have returned again and again.

"I have been here for four years on my own after my partner died.

"It has been a victim of its own success.

"I would just like to thank all the local people who have recommended us over the years."

The sale takes place between midday and 2pm on Sunday at the cottage which is off West Street near the Royal Norfolk Hotel.
