Crowds poured into Middleton's annual fete on Sunday.
The excellent turnout at Shrubbs Field is thought to have created a new record for the amount made from the community occasion.

The proceeds from the event – held under a clear blue sky – will be split between the Macmillan cancer nurses and payin
g for added security measures at Jubilee Hall.

Among the attractions enjoyed by the large number of people who went along were Egyptian dancers, Middleton old time sequence dance club, a re-enactment group, a dog show and car boot sale. Children's games, a bouncy castle and a fun fair were further crowd-pullers.
