Young people from the Chichester and Arun districts demonstrated a range of newly acquired skills at a graduation ceremony marking their completion of a ten-week FireBreak course.
The scheme is run by the county fire and rescue service, and supported by crime and disorder reduction partnerships across West Sussex.

Students attended a fire station for one day a week over the course of the programme, taking part in a structured, disciplined programme of events, which combined practical training with classroom-based workshops.

The students came from Bognor Regis Community College, Chichester High School for Girls, Chichester High School for Boys, Felpham Community College, Littlehampton Community School, Cornfield School in Littlehampton, Manhood Community College, and Westergate Community School.

They were presented with certificates, and a number received an additional award to recognise their outstanding individual progress or their contribution to the team.
