Worthing water polo team support Cancer Research UK
Nathan Hart and Alistair Harding after their pier-to-pier swim
A WORTHING water polo team have continued their fund-raising efforts in a pier-to-pier swim.
Worthing Swimming club water polo team members Nathan Hart, 24 of Harting Close, Goring, and Alistair Harding, 19 from Worthing, swam from Littlehampton Pier to Worthing pier to raise money for both Cancer Research UK and their squad.
The pair battled the waves to complete the challenge in a credible two hours and 45 minutes, raising £250 to go towards their grand fundraising total, which is yet to be finalised.
The fundraiser ran alongside the team’s overnight water polo match, which lasted 10 hours.
Nathan, who has been a member of the team for nine years, said he and his teammate Alistair were looking for a bigger challenge.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to do a pier-to-pier swim, and thought this would be a step-up from the overnight water polo match.
“As a team, we always want to push ourselves and do something bigger and better.”
