Foxes in town are a menace
MANY animal lovers feed the foxes and enjoying seeing them in their gardens.
The cubs are a delight to watch running around playing, but in the streets where there are restaurants with back alleys filled with rubbish bags, the foxes are a menace, causing problems ripping open the bags leaving rubbish shrewn everywhere.
And now with the bad publicity about foxes attacking children and foxes invading people's homes, I fear the foxes are in danger of being poisoned, trapped, and killed.
Garden centres now sell humane fox repellents.
Scoot or Renardine Fox Repellent are two products that are safe to use around children, birds, pets, and plants.
A fox rarely crosses another fox's territory, so by using a repellent that smells like another fox you can keep foxes away.
(They say a human male adult urinating into a watering can sprinkled around the fences of your property has the same effect, as well as lion dung!).
Foxes also hate the smell of moth balls – they could also be put in and around rubbish bags.
Rats are a big, big problem everywhere, but a rat repellent on the market signals the smell of fear to all rats, so they evacuate the area.
Called Ratty this repellent is safe to use around children, pets, poultry, plants and wild birds.
I have ducks and chickens and had a real problem with rats tunnelling under the sheds.
After using Ratty only once, it worked and we no longer have a rat problem.
I told my friends who have an aviary and always had rats in the garden (after the bird seed) to try it, Ratty also got rid of my friend's rats.
