Military memories
IN the Herald on August 12, Gerald Tiller's memories are so interesting.
They reminded me of how we were not allowed to discuss anything to do with the war.
We would see notices all over, such as "Careless talk costs lives" or "Be like dad, keep mum".
Troops would move in during the night.
We would get to know them, then, without warning, they had gone.
I didn't think even they knew they were going.
Why have we not learned that to protect our troops, information should not be broadcast about their movements?
