Poorly supported

MY WIFE and I went to a superb concert given by the Central Band of the British Legion in Worthing's Assembly Hall on Saturday evening.

This largely semi-amateur group of 40 men and women played a delightful selection of music from films as diverse as 633 Squadron to The Sound of Music, with excerpts from South Pacific and Oklahoma! and several other well-known movies.

All in all, the whole evening was very enjoyable and they received a well-deserved long ovation at the end of the evening.

Sadly, there were only just over 100 people in the audience, despite publicity on the local radio station and local papers.

Hopefully, they will be able to play again at the Assembly Hall next year.
