Road scheme chaos

I AM almost speechless to learn the new road scheme in Lancing village centre has won an award.

I can only assume that the engineers who gave this prize have never tried to shop or park in Lancing, let alone drive a bus up the road.

I challenge Lionel Barnard to name me three local traders who are happy with the scheme, let alone one poor disabled shopper, whose spaces have now been reduced from three to two, with one of these virtually inaccessible from the "wrong" side of the road.

And if it is such a rip-roaring success, why on earth were there workmen there digging it all up for 10 days earlier this month, with traffic light controls, choking dust blowing into the bakers and other shops, and more chaos than even before?
