I SHALL be grateful if, through your newspaper, you could allow me to thank the people of Worthing and district for their generosity in supporting our collections around the Christmas Tree in Montague Street precinct.
Including sponsorship from local businesses, the total raised was £5,250.54, a very commendable amount considering some heavy rain over the period and the economic climate. It is very reassuring to know that so many people care.
We were able to give a substantial sum to the Salvation Army, to enable them to distribute Christmas parcels to the disadvantaged, and other local good causes supported by Rotary will also benefit from the sum raised.
