Well done for safeguarding children from these items
I WOULD like to congratulate the mother who complained about the vibrating sex aids displayed on the tills next to children's socks in Poundland.
This mother was, I believe, safeguarding her child.
Why should children at such an early age be exposed to such things?
I am fully aware that in today's society they are no doubt ignorant to them, but why encourage it?
The spokeswoman for the shop suggested that if a child asks what it is, then say "it's a grown-up thing".
If a child was ignorant of such things I doubt that answer would be adequate to any child above the age of 10 and I wonder how many 11-year-olds this woman has encountered.
It was also ridiculous to think that because she apparently has seen 80-year-olds buying such toys, why it seems acceptable to have them on display for children to see.
Maybe if more people complained regarding such things then we would not be so desensitised to such items that are clearly inappropriate.
