VIDEO: Worthing Birdman Kingfishers – part two

EXOTIC birdlife and a taste of the high life provided the laughs at Worthing Birdman.

Click on the panel to the right to see video of six flyers taking part in the Kingfisher class on Sunday, August 23.

Elaine Sinclair and Chris Niall

Elaine Sinclair was an Oma-Gooli bird and Chris Niall was a stray cat chasing her around the platform at the end of Worthing Pier.

The pair were raising money for Worthing District Animal Rescue Service.

Joel Hicks

Joel Hicks takes part in a fancy-dress fund-raising event every couple of weeks and is raising cash for Rainbows Children's Hospice.

He is featured on this year's Worthing Birdman publicity in his Hulk costume from 2008.

This year he performed as Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses, complete with a yellow van.

Matthew Royal

"Wing Commander" Matthew Royal amused the crowds with his plan to fly from the pier directly to Shoreham RAFA Air Show.

Unfortunately for him, his small craft and helium-filled balloons were not enough to help him take flight as he took off in aid of the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home.

Steven Bond

Giant Puffin Steven Bond flew in aid of the Cardiomyopathy Association.

His leap caused a few problems with the safety boat as the feet from his costume were caught up in the propeller.

James Nugent and Samuel Wells

James Nugent and Samuel Wells enjoyed the "hazy days in Nakypoo" with a pair of inflatable friends, a bottle of sparkling wine and a punt.

The pair were raising money for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton. Anyone who wishes to make a donation can do so through their website www.bmycharity.com/birdman
