Worthing girl looks for a date on TV show

“NO likey, no lighty” - that was the decision a Durrington woman had to make when she appeared both on a television dating programme and a charity version of the popular show.
Beky Peake, 21, will be appearing on the ITV show, Take Me Out, from March 24 to April 7.
She was one of thirty women who got to decide if they left their light on, or turned it off, depending if they liked the man who came down the love lift.
Beky, of Durrington Hill, said: “I’ve always been a massive fan of the show, so when my boyfriend and I broke up my friends suggested I apply for it.
“I had a phone interview, audition and then made it to the shortlist - when I got the call to say they wanted me on the show I was so excited.”
The shows Beky will be appearing in were pre-recorded in November last year.
She spent three days filming the three episodes, which includes the series finale.
“It was exactly like you see it on the telly - presenter Paddy McGuinness is brilliant, and the love lift was just as I imagined it,” said Beky, who is a drama graduate, currently working at Sainsbury’s Lyons Farm.
Two weeks ago, Beky also took part in St Barnabas House hospice’s charity version of the show, called Lighty for a Nighty.
Beky said: “The charity version was a lot more laid back, but great fun for a great cause.
“The had set it up so well, each girl had their own table lamp which we either kept switched on, or turned off, depending if we liked the man. There were four men in total, all completely different - I kept my light on for two of them, but, unfortunately they didn’t pick me for a date.”
The charity version raised £2,200 for the hospice, in Titnore Lane, Worthing.
