Engine fire forces plane to land

Firefighters were called to Gatwick Airport after an eye witness saw fire coming from an aeroplane.
The engine fire on the 747 began at around 11am today just as the plane had taken off.
The fire was quickly extinguished on board and the faulty engine was shut down.
The plane then returned back to Gatwick Airport and landed safely.
Fire investigators and engineers are inspecting the plane.
Watch manager of Horley Fire Station, John Snelgrove said: "We were called at around 11am to a report of an engine fire on board a plane.
"The fire was extinguished on board the plane and the captain shut the engine down.
"The plane returned to Gatwick and landed once emergency services were there.
"It was all dealt with quickly and safely."
