JON WORCESTER swept to his second aquathlon title in a few weeks when he added the Worthing Yacht Club crown to his Littlehampton Regatta one.
The Chichester-based Loughborough Student led the field of 55 out of the 800m sea swim and home along the reduced 10k run on the prom and Goring-to-Ferring seafront and beach.

A force five wind prompted the reduction in length and reversed direction of the swim - into the current - and proved a testing headwind when the run turned westwards from Heene Terrace towards Ferring Rife mouth.

But the 24-year-old, who was not far away from the medals in the recent World Championship, conserved his energy for that tough long stretch.

He led the swim in 13min 07sec and after a 28min 48sec run, won the race in 41mi 55sec.

His margin was 3½ minutes up on silver medallist Adam Barlow, a Cranleigh 19-year-old in the colours of Tortoise & Hare.

Barlow finished seven seconds ahead of Brighton Phoenix competitor Jason Benniman, 35.

The field included a cross-Channel swimmer from Balcombe, Matt Record.

He came ashore 11th in 17min 59sec and wound up 20th.
