STAFF at Chestnut Tree House children's hospice say a common misconception is that it is an unhappy place.
That is why every year, to coincide with national Children's Hospice Week, Chestnut Tree House opens its doors to visitors.
For three days, staff and volunteers at the hospice at Poling, near Arundel, took guests on tours around the facility, and tell them about what the hospice does for children and their families.
This year, the open days were extra special, as on Friday, September 26, was the official opening of a memorial garden created as a place of remembrance and reflection for children and their families.
