A Hollington man appeared in court this week charged with assault and criminal damage.
Nathan Sinden, 24, of Blackman Avenue pleaded not guilty to the charges, dating back to July 5, before magistrates in Hastings.
He was remanded in custody for a trial on a date to be arranged.
DRUNKARD John Joseph Gorman admitted breaching a dispersal order in court this week.
Magistrates in Hastings heard that Gorman, 40, of Clifton Court, Holmsdale Gardens, was seen in Cornwallis Gardens at 12.45pm on August 6, where there is a dispers
al order, stating that there is to be no street drinking.
The court was told that Gorman was asked to leave by officers on duty, and not to return within 24 hours.
Alison May, prosecuting, said: "Officers were on duty at 4.10pm on the Lower Promenade, which is part of the same dispersal order, and saw males on the beach. Gorman was spoken to and arrested."
Kim Goodall, mitigating, said: "He's lost his job and has made himself homeless. He has an underlying drink problem.
"He apologises for the offence. He was unable to comply with the dispersal order because he was drunk and it affected his judgement."
Gorman was bailed and the case was adjourned to a later date for reports.
A ST Leonards woman admitted stealing almost £200 of perfume and aftershave from Debenhams this week.
Prolofoc shoplifter Rose Germaine, 27, of London Road, pleaded guilty to the theft charge before Hastings' magistrates.
The court heard that Germaine was seen concelaing cosmetics in a black bag as she walked around the store on August 16.
Alison May, prosecuting, said: "A member of staff followed her out of the store and asked her to stop. A male came up to her, took the bag and told her to run.
"Officers found her sitting on a wall thereafter, and she was arrested.
"She hoped to sell on the perforume for £5 each."
Kristina Ellis, mitigating, said: "She didn't have any money. It was clearly an unsophisticated offence."
Germaine was bailed and the case adjourned to a later date for reports.
MARK Griffiths was bailed for being drunk and disorderly by police, and was arrested the following day for being drunk and incapable.
Griffiths, 56, of London Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to the two charges before magistrates in Hastings this week.
The court heard that he was found by police officers, lying on a bench asleep next to a quarter-full bottle of vodka on August 14.
Alison May, prosecuting, said: "Officers disturbed his sleep. They couldn't understand what he was saying.
"He went back to sleep again. He was roused again and became abusive, swearing at officers. He was arrested and later bailed.
"The next day, officers on patrol in Gensing Gardens saw the defendent slumped with an empty bottle of vodka and a half-empty bottle of cider.
"He was unable to answer questions put to him. He was arrested for being drink and incapable."
Magistrates fined Griffths for each offence and ordered him to pay £15 victim surcharge, which was considered paid by the three days he had spent in custody.
