A motorist was airlifted to hospital this morning after sustaining head injuries in a collision.
The woman was driving 300 yards from Brede when her car collided with a lorry in Chitcombe Road, Broad Oak, at 8.10am.

Fire crews were called to the scene and had to cut her free from the vehicle.

Sussex Police said the motorist suffered 'serious' injuries and the road was closed to traffic following the accident.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We airlifted the woman to King's College Hospital in London using the air ambulance helicopter.

"She sustained head, chest, leg and pelvic injuries."
