Jeffrey Jones, 56, formerly of Quendale Court, Ethelred Road, was given a three-year prison sentence in May, 2007, for living off prostitution and controlling prostitution between 2002 and 2005.

Mr Jones, who says in five years in the trade he never sought girls to work for him and "was literally turning them away", said he told the police about one of his former "employees" who set up a brothel in Worthing, near Rowlands Road, after his arrest.
Imported girls"I said to the police she's working now doing exactly the same thing as she was doing for me," said Mr Jones.
"They weren't interested in any, any, any shape or form. And she does import girls."
Previously a driving instructor for 21 years, Mr Jones claims he phoned Brighton, London and Southampton police forces to check the legality of having a prostitute he knew work from his flat.
"I was trying to make some money basically," said Mr Jones.
"I wanted the proper legalities from the powers-that-be, the police, to know where I stood.
"I said I've got a place and I've been approached by a girl in the trade.
Mistakes made"They told me, each and every one, one girl can work in one premises. It's absolutely legal as a working girl.
"The mistake I made... is one girl worked at one time but after two or three days she went and worked somewhere else.
"Then, after two or three days, another girl came into work."
The police deemed that to be "teamwork", said Mr Jones, and identified his flat as a brothel after they attended a domestic dispute between Mr Jones and one of his girls.
He was then arrested on suspicion of charges relating to prostitution.
Larger brothelsBut he claims he was "picked on" by the police, who he accuses of doing nothing about the larger brothels he claims are "almost on every corner".
He said: "As far as establishments are concerned, there must be a dozen.
"I could take you to a dozen doorsteps as we speak."
Trafficked womenDI Dave Wilkins said Worthing police were involved in the national Operation Pentameter, which investigates the trafficking of women into the sex trade.
He said this had unearthed information and intelligence on premises that may be used as brothels.
He added: "We have visited identified addresses and have sought to engage with potential victims of crime.
"We take this issue very seriously and will respond to specific information appropriately to protect vulnerable and exploited victims of the sex trade.
"We would ask that anyone with information regarding such activity should contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, or confidentially via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting Operation Kenton."
