PERFORMING the world's largest "pin wheel" led to Holiday on Ice breaking its second world record of 2008.
The successful attempt, choreographed by Robin Cousins, took place in Germany under the watchful eye of the Guinness World of Records, in the same year the company was recognised as the world's most visited ice show, with more than 320million visitors in its 65-year history.

The wheel is a complicated skating manoeuvre which has become a highlight of every Holiday on Ice show.

It involves skaters forming a chorus line and skating in a huge circle.

One by one, skaters join the end of the line, requiring the skaters at the end to race across the ice to keep up.

Normally, such a manoeuvre would be performed by 30 skaters but the world record attempt involved 65 people, one for each year of Holiday on Ice's existence.

A 1,500 meter square ice rink had to be built especially for the attempt, which meant there was little time to rehearse the manoeuvre.

Robin Cousins said: "Having only 16 hours of ice time with all 65 skaters meant very intense and focused rehearsals for the two days before the big event.

"I am very proud of the skaters, who pulled together as a great team, and that I could be a part of making this special record happen."
