FANS of the Holiday on Ice wheel of skaters are going to love the new show Mystery.
For this time the wheel is made up of a line of goblins in fantastic costumes with those joining the end skating at high speeds to join their friends.

It's unique and fabulous to watch but I won't ruin the surprise and reveal why. You can find out for yourselves when you see the remarkable Goblin Forest.

Mystery will be at the Brighton Centre from January 9 to February 1, 2009, the extra week making it Holiday on Ice's longest ever run in the city.

During a sneak preview in Arnhem in The Netherlands, another highlight was Danse Macabre, a glimpse of the darker, mysterious side, with daring choreography and contemporary costumes setting the pace.

From a totally different perspective, but just as enjoyable, was Song for You, based around a man sitting on a bench in New York's Central Park. Is he thinking of his lost love?

Spectacular set

The set itself is something different this year, with spectacular lanterns casting a variety of colours down from the ceiling around the edge of the ice.

This is a show based around magic, enchantment and illusion, visiting Alice, not in Wonderland but in Jazzland, with the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter and other well known characters and some large musical instruments.

There's Hypnotica, as a beautiful lady seems to be hypnotised into an amazing flying act and a trip to the Orient with a whole host of whirling dervishes.

The audience jumps on board the school bus for an adventurous trip and some magical songs in the Magic Medley.

Zodiac signs

All the signs of the zodiac are represented through some wonderful, colourful costumes in What's your Sign?

There's a Romany feel to the Fortune Teller's Dance and then she is transformed into her glitzy costume in Going Home, ready for the traditional bright lights of the finale.

Olympic standard, international skaters perform dazzling routines on and above the ice, with solo routines, lively lifts and group ensembles, highlighted with beautiful lighting and dramatic backdrops.

The show was brought to the ice by the dynamic partnership of Olympic skater, co-director and choreographer Robin Cousins and artistic director Anthony Van Laast, who have created some of the most successful Holiday on Ice productions.

Best ever

"Following the huge demand for tickets for last year's show, we have had to add an additional week of performances," said Howard Barden, commercial manager for the Brighton Centre.

"We are privileged to have an incredibly loyal fanbase for Holiday on Ice and we're looking forward to bringing them what promises to be the best Holiday on Ice show ever."

Tickets range from £14 to £28, with all children at £10 (subject to a booking fee). Group discounts are available.
