Robert - a former director of Amberley Working Museum - described his partner of 26 years as a 'bouncy', 'bubbly' person.
"She loved being out and about but she also loved being here in the countryside." he said.
Bridget was head of access and stewardship at London based medical charity the Wellcome Trust.
Neighbour Sally Hutchinson had known her since she moved to the village 14 years ago.
"She was a lovely, lively and amusing woman," she said.
The funeral is planned for Friday October 31 at Amberley Church.
