CRIME FILE: Teenager attacked in Lancing

A TEENAGE girl escaped a would-be mugger who attempted to rob her in broad daylight.
The 13-year-old was walking along an alleyway between Chester Avenue and Chartwell Road, Lancing, shortly before 10am on Saturday, October 4.

A youth passed her and grabbed the bag strapped across her body, before attempting to pull it from her.

The boy then let go and fled in the direction of Chester Avenue.

The suspect was described as white, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall, about 15 or 16 years old, broad-shouldered and of medium build.

He was wearing a blue hooded top and a blue baseball cap.

Witnesses and anyone who saw anything suspicious have been urged to contact police by calling 0845 6070 999.
