A THEME of Spring Time in Europe proved popular at Lancing Flower Club's annual show.
Gill Davey fought off competition from more than 40 other arrangements to win three out of five categories and claim the overall prize.

"It was brilliant. I couldn't believe it," said Gill.

"You just work out what arrangement you're going to do in your head and I couldn't believe I got three first places."

The three categories she won were: Spring Time in Europe, Still Water and 50th Anniversary.

Helen Taylor came second and Pauline Baker was the most successful in the beginners category.

Anyone who is interested in joining Lancing Flower Club can visit a meeting at the Parish Hall in South Street, Lancing, at 2.30pm on the third Monday of the month or at Sompting Community Centre in Loose Lane, Sompting, at 7.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
