OLD Boys of Lancing College travelled the length and breadth of the country to gather for a special Eucharist Service and lunch.
Jasper Bell, who now lives in Ditchling, was at the school from 1947 to 1952 and said although the service was different to when he was at the school he enjoyed it immensely.

"We had some reminiscing and we were shown what had happened to our particular houses in the last few years."

"It's a very happy school and the college kind of gets to people.

"I was very fond of the place.

"Also the chapel is the most beautiful building and it has a very calming effect on you."

Mr Bell said he was also interested to see that his old house room had been transformed into a library and computer room.

Professor Maurice Kimmitt, who went on to become a lecturer at the University of Essex, said: "Looking back at my time at Lancing, I learnt the basics for life, not just the academic side of things.

"It gave me great confidence."
