SMASH-HIT television comedy 'Allo 'Allo will be performed live at Littlehampton's Windmill Entertainment Centre next week by Stage Door Theatre Company.
The evergreen wartime sitcom, written by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft and still enjoying regular repeats on the small screen, features in this stage version Mark Roberts as René, the hapless café owner in occupied France and Fiona Humphrey as Edith, his wife.
Together they struggle to keep for themselves a priceless portrait stolen by the Nazis and hidden in a sausage in their cellar.
René is also concealing two British airmen and is trying to repatriate them with the help of the resistance. However, communication with London through a wireless disguised as a cockatoo adds to the many embarrassments he endures in front of his customers.
Matters come to a head with the news that Hitler is to visit the town and the café becomes filled with tricksters intending to impersonate the Fuhrer before the event.
René will need all his wits about him to save his café and his life.
The cast also includes Laura Thornett as Yvette, Ricky Davey as Leclerc, Lynn Davis as Michelle, Louise Chalcraft as Mimi, James Wading as Col Von Strohm, Barry Tinkler as Capt Alberto Bertorelli, Mark Barnes as Otto Flick, Karen Perry as Helga, Tim Kimber as Lieut Gruber, Alan Moss as General Von Schmelling and Jamie Griffiths as Officer Crabtree.
Performances are nightly from Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30, with a matinée on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets, price £8 (concessions available) can be booked through the box office on 01903 722224.
