Dozens of fire fighters tackle Lewes blaze

MORE than 30 fire fighters battled for over an hour to control a blaze in Lewes.
Members of the public alerted emergency services to the fire at Court Mowers, in Harveys Way, Lewes, at 5.53am today (April 10).

An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFR) spokeswoman said 35 fire fighters fought to control the flames and confirmed that the fire is now under investigation.

Crews are still in attendance.

The spokeswoman added: "Following a number of reported calls 35 fire fighters tackled the blaze and brought the fire under control by around 7am.

"ESFR have now commenced a fire investigation to attempt to determine the cause of the blaze."

Six fire engines from across the county attended the morning fire.
