Teen wins charity run

A LEWES teenager has won a charity fun run for the second successive year.
Josh Burgess, 17, from Ferrers Road, took first place in St Peter and St James Fun Run or Walk.

He was running in memory of his mum who died last year and was cared for by staff at the hospice in North Chailey.

It was the event's fifth year and in the past four years it has raised more than £40,000.

Around 360 runners, walkers and junior fun runners took part.
Josh completed the five-and-a-half mile men's Fun Run in 34 minutes and 2 seconds.

He was followed by Mark McCoughlin who finished in 34 minutes and 39 seconds and then Colin Simpson in 36 minutes and 16 seconds).

Leading the women home was Beth Kidger in 37 minutes and 32 seconds, followed by Ann Sinnett, 37 minutes and 53 seconds, and Megan Kidger, 40 minutes and 54 seconds.
