BEER FESTIVAL: In Southwick with live music
MORE than 60 ales and ciders will be available at the annual Southwick Beer Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Once again, they will be sourced by beermaster Steve Bennett from the CAMRA award-winning Stanley Arms.
Events kick off at Southwick Community Centre tomorrow (Friday, May 22) from 6.30pm, with music from the 10-piece soul band The Rhythm Method.
Tickets 5 (no concessions).
The festival continues on Saturday (May 23) afternoon, noon-5.30pm. Tickets 5 (under-14s free).
Music on the Saturday evening from 7pm is supplied by Burning Organ.
Tickets 5 (no concessions).
The festival concludes on Sunday, May 24, noon-4pm. Free entry.
Festival organiser Paul Watts said: "Now in its sixth successful year, the Southwick Beer Festival is a really high-profile community event, all taking place in the unique setting of Southwick Community Centre.
"With its usual blend of spacious garden, live music, home-cooked food plus barbecue in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, it's a great place to relax with friends over a pint or two.
"It is best to get tickets in advance as on Friday night last year we were up to capacity and on Saturday night we were unfortunately having to turn people away!
"The Sunday session is always good fun.
"The challenge is on to drink the event dry and last year we succeeded with five minutes to go!"
A weekend ticket for entry to all sessions can be bought in advance for 12.
