CARNIVAL: Worthing Rotary Carnival events
SUNDAY, August 1, is Rotary Carnival time – a great day of free entertainment for all the family.
The day will start at 11.30am with the parade assembling in Grand Avenue.
After judging, the parade moves eastwards along the seafront led by the Salvation Army band and the Rotary Carnival Princess, arriving at Steyne Gardens around 2.15pm.
This year's parade promises to be loud and colourful with the drummers and dancers of the Brighton School of Samba bringing an authentic touch of Brazilian carnival colour and excitement.
Floats will range from Elvis, Beauty and the Beast and Aristocats, to pirates, pompom troupes, belly dancers, youngsters from Worthing Kung Fu school, a selection of Minis from the Italian Job . . . and more.
Steyne Gardens will offer something for everyone – bouncy castles, go-karts, trampolines, stalls, plus live entertainment and the presentation of prizes for the best parade entrants by the mayor and the carnival princess.
With luck, this year's Rotary Carnival will again provide a great day of entertainment for all the family blessed by good weather and big crowds.
Please come along and enjoy yourselves and help the Rotary clubs of Worthing and West Worthing raise lots of money for the charities we support.
Last year, you enabled us to distribute more than 6,000 to local and international good causes – please help us beat this target this year.
