CHILDREN'S PARADE: In Worthing

FIGURES from myths and legends will weave their magic through the town centre at the weekend with the annual Worthing Children's Parade.

Children from 10 of the town's schools are taking part, dressed in a variety of colourful mythical costumes, including Medusa, Anansi the African Spiderman, Icarus, George and the Dragon, Robin Hood and a Loch Ness monster.

The parade starts from Splash Point at 10am tomorrow (Saturday, June 13) and make its way along the prom to West Buildings, where it will cross Marine Parade and travel up to Montague Street.

It will turn right into Warwick Street, finishing at 11.20am at Steyne Gardens.

There will also be a charity fayre in Steyne Gardens in aid of The Smiles Foundation in Romania.

Project co-ordinator Lindy Stannard is delighted the event has been awarded nearly 2,000 from the Community Trust Fund, as well as 1,000 by Grassroots Grants at Sussex Community Foundation and 830 by the Co-operative Bank.
