A RANGE of art was on display at a recent exhibition in Lancing of local artists.
The exhibition of Lancing Art Club was held at Lancing Parish Hall, South Street, from August 18 to 24 and featured a range of work from local artists.
There was a mixture of oil paintings, water colours, pastilles, and pen and pencil drawings on display, with some of the proceeds from the sold art going to the club.
Eve Wilson, a member of the club, said the exhibition had attracted, on average, between 50 and 100 visitors a day and had been particularly well attended on the opening night. She said: “It went well. There were 136 framed pictures in the gallery in the hall. The opening evening was very well attended. There was quite a crowd in the hall.”
The club has existed for almost 50 years and has Tim Loughton MP as its honourary president.
It meets each Tuesday at the parish hall, between 7p m and 9pm. and on the first Tuesday of the month a professional artist performs a demonstration at the club.
The club seeks like-minded members who enjoy art and welcomes anyone to visit the monthly displays, which cost £4 for entrance.
