This photo of the infants class at St Mary’s Primary School in 1952 has featured prominently in Looking Back over the past few weeks.
Mike Dunne, who now lives in Bexhill-on Sea, sent the photo in to see if anyone could remember the names of any of the other children in his sister’s class.
His sister, Anne, is fourth from right on the middle row, and Mike also named Bernard Reynolds as the boy fourth from right on the back row.
Barbara Trott, far right of the middle row, has also been identified by her sister, Caroline Webb.
This week, Hilary Baker, of Franklin Road, Durrington, has managed to name three of the children in the photo.
She believes the girls fourth and fifth from the left, on the middle row, are Frances Gillespie and Pamela Dale.
Hilary also named the girl third from right on the middle row as Mary Hill.
Hilary said: “I was a year behind the class in the photo, but managed to catch up with them and was in their class before mine caught up with me again.
“I was good friends with Frances Gillespie, and Mary Hill’s sister, Helen, was in my class as well.”
Paula McNaughton also emailed in to suggest that her lifelong friend, Daniel Keegan, is the boy sixth from left on the back row.
Do you know the names of any of the other children in the photo?
Get in touch if you can put a name to any of the faces, or if you have any old school photos of your own which you would like to see featured in Looking Back.
