IT may have been cutting edge in the 1950s, but wouldn't cut the mustard these days.
This photograph from the Worthing Herald's archives features a man with electrical equipment and a trophy.
Click here to see a larger version of the image. On closer inspection the trophy appears to be engraved with the words: "First 1958 Award for industrial equipment at Electrical Engineers exhibition in Earls Court."
Is this award on the shelves of your home or business?
This pictures is among the thousands of photographs in the Herald archive which cannot be identified, but hopefully will mean something to our readers.
Do you know when and where this photograph was taken?
Herald reader Brian Roberts believes the man in the picture is a Mr DeGrouchy who ran an electrical test equipment company in Woods Way, Goring, called Clare Instrument Company.
Mr Roberts used to work for Mr DeGrouchy in 1966 when the workshop was in the old clothes factory which was at the junction of Dominion and Sompting roads.
The building, plus a garage, was knocked down to make way for the road changes and new roundabout. The firm then moved to a new factory, which Mr Roberts believed Mr DeGrouchy had built, at Woods Way.
