ESSAY for the Ordinary are a six-piece band made up of 17-year-olds Jon Hampson, Nathan Hewer, Lewis Bye and Matt Edwards, and 16-year-olds Stan Holt and Harry Hogg.
The band members, all from Worthing, and former Durrington High students, impressed judges at the Live and Unsigned competition with their acoustic performance of their song Cool Cats.

Essay for the Ordinary, who formed in January, 2006, and describe their style as ska/punk/pop, have played many gigs at the Assembly Hall and Concorde 2 in Brighton.
