THIRD Time Luckie are battling it out to be named best unsigned band in the UK.
The Worthing threesome won the regional heat of the Liquidisco Academy Awards.

Known locally as 3TL, the band are Chris Horner and Olly Vincent, both from Worthing, and Carl Swietlik, from Durrington.

The Liquidisco Academy Awards is an annual battle of the bands competition, which sees organisers search the UK for the best unsigned talent.

3TL won the under-18 south east England competition in October, at Portsmouth.

Chris, 21, guitarist and vocalist is the longest-serving member of the band having joined in 2003.

He said: "We relate our music to the American band Blink 182, but ours has a real British stamp on top, and we're trying to create something a bit new and different."

The newest member of the band is bassist Olly, 18, who joined the band two months ago.

Speaking at Soundlocker Studios, in Lancing, he said: "We are here recording a new demo with three tracks on it.

"We'll be giving it to some promotion labels and hopefully then move onto bigger and better things."

Soundlocker Studios, in Lancing Business Park, is a state of the art music complex with rehearsal rooms and a recording studio for local bands to use to produce industry standard tracks.
