A PIRATE-themed fun day was a swashbuckling success with more than 1,000 people taking part.
The event was held at the Maybridge Keystone Centre in Raleigh Way, Goring, to raise awareness of what the centre has to offer.
It also raised £265 each for Iona-May Thorne and William Moore, two disabled children whose families are currently running fund-raising campaigns for them.
One of the centre volunteers, Trish Murrell, said: “It was a roaring success and we had around 1,000 people through our door, which is just outstanding – the life-long members have never known that many people in the centre.
“The real idea behind the event was just to let people know we’re here and what we do. We had a big refurbishment two years ago, but I don’t think everybody knows we’re here.”
