IT certainly was not going at 88mph – and the only place this DeLorean is heading is... back to the garage for repair.
The car, which could be one of those used in the blockbuster films Back to the Future, broke down on the A24 at Washington, near Findon, yesterday morning, just after 9am.
It is not known what caused the car to break down, but the “flux capacitor” will surely be investigated for faults!
The driver, pictured next to the car in the black jacket, was a tad embarrassed the distinctive Delorean DMC 12 had broken down.
Photographer Eddie Mitchell said the car had autographs from the actors of the 1980s trilogy, which starred Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, on the dashboard.
The number plate on the broken-down car is listed online as being one of the seven versions of the car used in the films.
Of the seven cars, it is reported two are owned by film studio Universal, two were left to rot, one was destroyed at the end of third film and one had a private owner. There are no details of what happened to the seventh car – could this be it?
