Badger trapped in Storrington manhole

Fire crews rushed to help when a badger became stuck down a manhole in Storrington yesterday.

The crews, including a technical rescue unit, found the badger trapped 2.5 metres down the manhole in Washington Road soon after 4.30pm.

Along with help from the RSPCA, they used lines and baskets to free the animal.

It was released unharmed.
