GREENFINGERED residents went toe-to-toe at the Findon Village Gardens Association’s Spring Flower Show on Saturday.

There were more than 200 entries to the show which took place inside Findon Village Hall, in High Street, Findon – the highest number since 2006.

Norman Allcorn, Betty Lewis and Dorothy Barber each won two cups each. Maureen Bowen, Mary Wickson, Sue Line and Julia Griffiths each took home one. One of show secretary Chris Young’s photographs was chosen to grace the cover of next year’s spring show programme.

Association committee member Maureen Bowen said: “It was another very successful spring show. One thing that was excellent was when the double narcissi entered the perfume was beautiful and filled the village hall.

“The flower and foliage arrangements were outstanding. It was a good turn out and an enjoyable time was had by all.”

The association welcomes new members. They meet on the last Friday of each month excluding December.
