Bedroom burglar in Worthing

Police in Worthing are appealing for information after a woman woke up to find a burglar in her bedroom.

The incident happened at about 4.40am yesterday morning (Tuesday, February 7) in the Castle Road area.

The offender broke in and searched the house before going into the bedroom, which disturbed the victim.

She chased the burglar out of her house and onto Castle Road before discovering that property had been stolen.

The burglar is described as being of slim build, about 5ft 7in tall, wearing dark clothing and possibly a head covering. It is not known whether the offender was a man or a woman.

Anybody who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at the time of the burglary is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting reference 0133 of 7 February, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
