Blaze destroys one car and wrecks two others

AN ACCIDENTAL blaze destroyed one car and damaged two others in Lancing last night (Monday, July 13).

The incident took place at the rear of Milford Court, in Brighton Road at 8.17pm.

One car caught fire. The flames were so intense that the heat damaged to other vehicles nearby, a fire service official said.

A fire crew from Worthing was dispatched to the scene.

Officers wearing breathing apparatuses used two high-pressure hose reels to quell the flames.

The fire was extinguished by 9pm.

It is unclear how the blaze sparked but a fire service spokeswoman this morning confirmed that the incident was being treated as an accident blaze
