Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was knocked down by a motorbike as she crossed the road.
The 66-year-old victim from Lancing was struck by a motorcyclist heading south in North Road, Lancing, at about 4pm on Friday September 27.
She suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.
The motorcyclist left the scene with his bike but abandoned it in Penstone Park, Lancing, and got into a second vehicle.
Two men were later arrested in Berriedale Drive, Lancing, on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident.
A third man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident after he visited Shoreham Police Station.
North Road was closed between the junctions with North Farm Road and Sompting Road until around 7.30pm last night.
Sergeant Alan Spicer said: “I would like to thank residents and people visiting the area for their patience while we have been investigating this incident.
“I am sure they will appreciate the importance of collecting every piece of evidence from the scene so that we can build up a complete picture of exactly what happened.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision, the man leaving on a motorbike or where he went after abandoning his vehicle.”
