BROADWATER Bridge has been fully reopened this afternoon after more than 12 weeks of maintenance work (Friday, December 5).
Work to make vital repairs to the bridge began in September and overran by a week because of poor weather.
A West Sussex County Council safety inspection revealed water was leaking through the bridge deck, causing small pieces of concrete to loosen and fall.
If repairs were not carried out, the county council warned it could be forced to shut the bridge completely.
The traffic management measures have now been removed, with both lanes on either side open.
