BROKEN pipes have leaked sewage into a residential street in Lancing, trapping people in their homes and soiling their property.
Engineers were called to West Way in Lancing at 8.30 on Thursday morning as foul water was bubbling up through the road, flooding the street and people’s driveways.
West Way resident Trish Page, 66, said the waste had flowed into her front garden.
She praised the reaction of Southern Water, whose workmen arrived at 1pm to begin the cleanup operation.
Trish said: “I couldn’t fault them, they have been absolutely excellent.”
