HELP will still be offered for unemployed people in Worthing, despite an organisation losing a contract in the south east.
A4e helps unemployed people back into work, and last week lost a contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) which helped people on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) get experience through short-term work placements.
The company claims this will not affect the work it does at its office in Chatsworth Road, Worthing, as it runs a different Government contract called the work programme, which helps long term unemployed people on JSA find sustainable jobs.
A spokeswoman for A4e said: “A4e has an office in Worthing from which we run the Government’s work programme, which offers tailored support for JSA claimants who need more help to undertake active and effective jobseeking.
“This office remains unaffected by the DWP’s decision to terminate A4e’s MWA contract in the south east.”
