Power disruption affects Worthing Hospital

THE major power disruption in Worthing today (Thursday, September 29) affected Worthing Hospital.

Jeannie Baumann, director of clinical services for Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, said while the power issues had affected the hospital, it has back-up generators and remains open.

She said: “At this time, there is no need for planned operations, referrals or appointments to be affected. However, should this situation change we will of course seek to keep patients informed at the earliest possible opportunity.”

Routine services are continuing to be provided.

Worthing Police Station in Chatsworth Road, Tesco in Chapel Road and the Herald offices, in Chatsworth Road, were also affected by the power disruption.
