A WELL-established nursery and its owner are amongst the first to be nominated for this year’s Adur and Worthing Business Awards.
Gill Bromley, owner of the Sunshine Nursery, in Georgia Avenue, in Broadwater, has been nominated for the lifetime achievement award, while the nursery is nominated in the small business category.
The nominations were made by the nursery’s business administrator, Sarah Bromley, her daughter.
Gill was put forward by Sarah for 25 years of dedication in the industry.
Sarah said: “Gill is simply a hard-worker. She lives and breaths the nursery, she injects her passion, drive and determination into getting the best out of every child.
She is a true inspiration to other practitioners, parents and children, and her passion for education is obvious to all those who meet her.”
She added: “She is heart of the nursery, and without her it would not be the same.
“She therefore deserves recognition of the hand work and long-standing commitment to education via the lifetime achievement award.”
The nursery opened in 1990, catering for a small handful of children.
Now, it has grown to look after 24 children at a time.
It is in high demand, with it fully-subscribed from September.
They also offer funded spaces for children of disadvantaged families.
Nominating the nursery, Sarah said: “I believe the nursery deserves to win due to their long-standing commitment and the flexibility it provides.
“The nursery offers both sessional care and day care so parents are able to choose what best suits them.
“The nursery is special in that it focuses on the individual family and child and practitioners take the time to create beautiful profiles which become a keepsake.”
