Worthing pub revamp will create 16 new jobs

SIXTEEN new jobs will be created when the Mulberry pub, in Goring Road, Goring, reopens after a major refurbishment.

After closing on Monday (June 6), the Mulberry will undergo a £365,000 transformation.

It will reopen for trade on Monday, June 20, and celebrate in true Wild West style on Saturday, July 9.

The pub is being transformed into a Flaming Grill – which is owned and operated by the Punch Pub Company.

Mulberry general managers Sue and Paddy Tweedie are extremely excited about the new offer. Sue said: “The Mulberry is a brilliant pub but is in need of this investment, which I am confident will go down a storm with our community.”

The Mulberry is also gearing up for its grand launch weekend celebrations on July 9.

Sue added: “In keeping with the Wild West theme, we are looking for a ‘sheriff’ to officially open the pub who will be someone within the community who does a great amount of good work but doesn’t get the deserved recognition.

“They and their ‘deputies’ will be treated to VIP treatment, including a meal on us.”

If you would like to nominate a ‘sheriff’ – it could be an individual volunteer or a charity group – or if you are interested in applying for a position, contact Sue or Paddy on 01903 241 555.
